Leaving Zanzibar...

Wall in Stone Town.

It has been really great to spend relatively extended periods in both Maputo and now, Zanzibar. Getting to know people, visiting different places and also just being recognised on the street every now and then has been lots of fun and has also helped stave off any homesickness for my daily routine in Toronto (that said, of course I miss the Bistro with Joe, hanging out at Theodore 1922 and chatting over coffee and martinis at Mercurio and can't wait to see everyone again at those places and others...).

So here are some more photos of Stone Town in Zanzibar, where the touts most definitely know your name and aren't afraid to yell it across the street...

Detail of dhow (sewn!).

They have the most succulent pineapples here...

What a great name for a hotel...

Glad to see your new found knowledge of dhows is paying off.
